The Golden K Kiwanis Club of Decatur Announces January Program Schedule

The Golden K Kiwanis Club of Decatur has announced its upcoming program schedule for January, 2026:

…On January 7, Tanya Melendez, Executive Director of Good Samaritan Inn, will bring us up to date on the status on their Mercy Gardens. Six acres of land are used to grow fresh produce which enhances the noon meal served at Good Samaritan Inn, and helps support the food banks at Northeast Community Fund, Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, and Crossings Healthcare.

…On January 14, Chamblin Wealth Management’s Josh Chamblin will discuss “Smart Charitable Giving…and Other Retirement Topics.” Considering the tax changes in the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” and with tax season soon approaching, this should prove to be a timely presentation.

…On January 21, Chris Ellis, Board President, and Devon Joyner, Executive Director, will review the many programs and activities offered to young people at Old Kings Orchard Community Center. These programs positively impact youth and families, creating a prosperous and energized community.

…On January 28, we will receive an overview of the innovative programs offered by Decatur Public Schools at the Prep Academy. Leslie Risby, Supervisor, and Ashley Grayned, Executive Director, will oversee the discussion.
