Ball Runner Training To Be Held June 1st at Fairview Tennis Complex

DECATUR, Ill. – Ball runner training for the Illinois Women’s Pro Tennis Championships will be held Sunday, June 1st from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM at the Fairview Tennis Center. For youth ages 12 years old and higher, this is a great opportunity to get service hours while getting a front-row seat to some great tennis. ABOUT THE ILLINOIS WOMEN’S PRO TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Illinois Women’s Pro Tennis Championships is celebrating its inaugural year as part of the United States Tennis Association Professional Circuit. This seven-day event will feature 70 players from over 15 countries, competing for WTA professional ranking points and a $30,000 prize purse. Many top players from these tournaments have advanced to compete in all four Grand Slam events. The tournament is organized by the Decatur Community Tennis Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
ABOUT THE USTA PRO CIRCUIT
The USTA Pro Circuit, established in 1979, was created to help players earn the professional ranking points necessary to compete on the major pro tours. Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2019, the circuit has evolved into the world’s largest developmental tennis platform, featuring around 100 tournaments and nearly $3 million in prize money annually. The women’s circuit includes events offering prize money of $15,000, $30,000, $60,000, $80,000, and $100,000. ITF World Tennis Tour 15s provide $15,000 in prize money and ITF World Tennis ranking points, while tournaments at the $30,000 level and above award WTA ranking points.
