Winter Yard Waste Collection Schedule Reminder for Decatur WM Customers

 WM is reminding City of Decatur customers that their winter yard waste collection will take place next week, from February 10 through February 14, during their regularly scheduled pickup days.

Customers are encouraged to take advantage of this special winter pickup by placing their yard waste curbside on the appropriate collection day. Yard waste services will not be available again until weekly yard waste collection begins on March 1, 2025.

As a reminder, yard waste includes grass or shrubbery cuttings, leaves, tree limbs, and other materials generated by the care of lawns, shrubs, vines, and trees. To ensure proper collection, customers should place materials in biodegradable bags or clearly marked containers weighing no more than 50 pounds. Branches should be securely tied in bundles no longer than four feet.

WM delivers yard waste to a third party that processes it into beneficial products such as mulch and compost, helping to reduce landfill waste and promote a healthier environment.
