The Kiwanis Clubs of Decatur To Celebrate ‘Peanut Days’ Sept. 27, 28

The Kiwanis Clubs of Decatur, including the Key Clubs from Mt. Zion and St. Teresa High Schools, will be celebrating “Peanut Days” on Friday, September 27, and Saturday, September 28. On those days, you will find members at many stores in our area.
This fundraiser helps the clubs to support the many activities where they are involved to help make our community a better place. In the case of the Golden K Kiwanis Club, they will also be sending cases of peanuts to military personnel and local first responders as a means to say thank you for their service for us.
Golden K has also released their monthly program schedule for October:
…On October 2nd, Greater Decatur Chorale Director Ted Hesse will share highlights from the Opus trip to Italy last summer.
…On October 9th, Peggy Dyson, Executive Director of the Education Center for the Visually Impaired will share the many technological improvements that have been developed to help people with sight problems.
…On October 16th, Golden K Legion of Merit recipient Bill Hogg will review the Kiwanis safety requirements in place to ensure that both children and the adults who work with them are kept from harm.
…On October 23rd, Senior Information Specialist Daniel Miller from Starting Point at the Macon County Health Department will review the many Services Available for Seniors.
…And on October 30th, Mark Sorensen, President of Decatur Symphony Guild will give an overview of their involvement in the community as the Guild celebrates their 50th Anniversary.
Golden K Kiwanis of Decatur enjoys changing our world for the better – by helping children and others. They are involved in supporting over 40 local organizations and activities, by annually donating over 10,000 hours of service to the community. Programs and presenters are subject to change without notice. Meetings are held every Wednesday morning with a fellowship hour starting at 8:30 am and a program starting at 9:30 am at the Salvation Army, 229 W. Main Street in Decatur.
