STATE REP. DAN CAULKINS RELEASES STATEMENT REGARDING GOVERNOR’S PLAN TO REOPEN ILLINOIS

Rep. Dan Caulkins
(R-Decatur)

Springfield, IL…State Representative Dan Caulkins (R-Decatur) released the following statement after Governor Pritzker released his plan to keep central Illinois closed:

“At least we have the Governor admitting there needs to be a plan and it should be regional. Now that he’s been forced to release his plan, we see how out of touch he and his advisors really are with downstate Illinois. Putting 21 counties into Region (6) is a clear indication of that. Not disclosing the sources and methods for determining how a region will be reopening leads me to believe it will be arbitrary, at best. The fact that Governor Pritzker intends to wait for ‘a vaccine…or elimination of any new cases’ to fully reopen is unrealistic and dishonest.

“The Governor does not have the authority to implement this plan without legislative approval. He is not allowed to shut down our economy based on his assumptions. It’s past time for the General Assembly to return to Springfield and get to work now for the people of Illinois.”

Thanks for fighting for us Rep Dan! The fact Pritzker refuses to disclose the sources and methods for determining how a region will be reopening leads me to believe it will be arbitrary, at best.

The only people who don’t want to disclose the truth are people with something to hide. Coming from our Governor tax evader, I’m not surprised!
