Macon County to host two Community Blood Drives with ImpactLife July 2

Macon County will host two community blood drives on Tuesday, July 2, with ImpactLife, the provider of blood components for local hospitals.
A blood drive will be held from 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. inside a donor bus at the Macon County Health Department, 1221 East Condit Street, Decatur. All presenting donors will get a gift card, a donation to Make-A-Wish® Illinois, or bonus points to shop in the donor reward store. A blood drive will also be held from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at 2300 North Edward Street, Decatur, inside Classroom C. To donate, contact Julie Floyd at (217) 876-5018 or visit www.bloodcenter.org and use code 60703 to locate the drive. Appointments are requested. All donors will receive an ImpactLife Incentive Voucher for their choice of either an EGift Card, use bonus points in the online rewards store or direct a donation to Illinois Make a Wish Foundation.
Potential donor must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required to donate. For questions about eligibility, call (800) 747-5401. Donors who last gave blood on or before 5/7/24 are eligible to give at the drive.
Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.
