Macon County Continuum Of Care To Host 2026 Community Breakfast March 27

The Macon County Continuum of Care (CoC) will host its annual Community Breakfast on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. at The Salvation Army, 229 W. Main Street, Decatur, Illinois.
The event is free and open to the public, with reservations required by March 20.
This year’s Community Breakfast will highlight the 2026 Point-in-Time Count results, offering a snapshot of homelessness in Macon County and the ongoing efforts to address housing instability in the region. The presentation will be led by R.J. Podeschi, Dean of the Tabor School of Business at Millikin University, along with participating students who assisted in analyzing the data.
Attendees will also hear the announcement of the 2026 Macon County Continuum of Care Advocate of the Year, recognizing an individual who has demonstrated outstanding commitment to supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
Darsonya Switzer, CoC Chair and CEO of Dove, Inc., will provide remarks on the state of housing and supportive services in Macon County and outline ways community members, businesses, and organizations can become more involved in local solutions.
“The Community Breakfast is an opportunity to come together as a community, learn from the data, celebrate those making a difference, and identify how each of us can play a role in ensuring safe and stable housing for our neighbors,” said Switzer.
The Community Breakfast is hosted by the Macon County Continuum of Care in partnership with Dove, Inc., and Millikin University.
Reservations are required and must be made by noon on March 20, 2026. To RSVP, contact [email protected] or call 217-362-7700.
