Decatur Man Killed In Argenta Streets Leaf Clearing Accident
ARGENTA – On November 13, 2025 at approximately 300p the Macon County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to an accident in the 100 block of Claremont Street in Argenta, Illinois. Initial information provided that an individual who was operating a street leaf vacuum was injured.
Upon arrival deputies learned that a truck was pulling a trailer that carried the leaf vacuum and clearing the sides of streets in Argenta. An individual had fallen off the truck and sustained life threatening injuries after being ran over by the wheels of the trailer.
50 year old William Whitsel of Decatur, Illinois was later pronounced deceased at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
The accident is still under investigation by the Macon County Sheriff’s Office
