Oglesby Mansion And Museum To Host Open House Nov. 30

The Oglesby Mansion

     The Governor Richard J. Oglesby Mansion and Museum located at 421 West William Street will be Open on Sunday, November 30th (2pm-4pm). A $5 per adult and $2 per child donation is requested. Tourists are encouraged to take pictures inside the home. Tours are hosted by volunteer docents, current and past members of the board of directors of the mansion. The Mansion is in the historic district in the Millikin Heights neighborhood in Decatur.
     The museum recently received a donation of two original Oglesby artifacts which are now on display in the museum. These are a top hat and Mrs. Oglesby’s travel Steamer trunk. This open house will also have Christmas décor that is period appropriate on display.
     The Mansion will also be hosting the annual Christmas Tea on December 7th.
