Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations Meeting Aug. 19

The public is invited to attend the August meeting of CONO (Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations) on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. The meeting will begin at 5:30pm in the Madden Room on the first floor of the Decatur Public Library, 130 North Franklin Street. Citizens are encouraged to come with project ideas and needs of their own neighborhood.
Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations will host conversation from any neighborhood group or individual with concerns about their neighborhood. CONO is an active supporter of National Night Out, Little Free Libraries, neighborhood gardens and other neighborhood activities. The organization meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30pm in the Madden Room at the Decatur Public Library. All citizens are encouraged to attend these meetings.
The purpose of CONO is to support the formation, development, and empowerment of grassroots neighborhood organizations within the city boundaries of Decatur, Illinois, by sharing ideas with, and providing moral support to, neighborhood representatives, by promoting skills development (i.e., training opportunities and technical assistance) and by promoting neighborhood and political awareness.
CONO hosts public meetings on the third Tuesday of each month. It is a free forum that is open to any resident. Meetings typically last one hour. Citizens are encouraged to follow the Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations Facebook page for more neighborhood details.
