Kyle Karsten is the organization’s new Director of Development At Macon Resources

     Macon Resources, Inc. (MRI) is pleased to announce the hiring of Kyle Karsten as the organization’s new Director of Development. Karsten brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit leadership, strategic fundraising, and community engagement to the role, and is well-known for his commitment to service in the Decatur area.

     Karsten currently serves as the Director of Development for the Decatur Salvation Army for the last 9 years. During his tenure he has led numerous successful fundraising initiatives, expanded community partnerships, and demonstrated a deep passion for helping those in need. His strong background in development and community relations will be instrumental in advancing Macon Resources’ mission to support individuals with developmental disabilities and other specialized needs.

     A lifelong advocate for community-building, Karsten is involved in numerous civic efforts across Macon County and has been recognized for his dedication to improving lives through collaboration and service.

     Kyle Karsten has been a Decatur Resident for the past 16 years with his wife, Jeanne and their family. Prior to Salvation Army, Kyle served 7 years as the Superintendent of LSA Decatur Corps officers Majors Randy and Sue Summit have worked with Kyle for the past 2 years and had this to say about his 9 years with Salvation Army. “Kyle has been nothing short of transformative – a thoughtful strategist, a tenacious fundraiser, and above all, a passionate advocate for our mission, ministry, and community. Perhaps most impressive is Kyle’s unwavering commitment to service”. According to the Summits, “His heart for the work – and for the people we serve – is evident in everything he does.      Karsten officially begins his new role as Director of Development at Macon Resources on August 15. MRI looks forward to the leadership and energy he will bring as the organization continues to grow and serve Macon County and beyond.
