Central Illinois Political Action Committee (CIPAC) Announces Endorsements for Local Candidates
Decatur, IL- The Central Illinois Political Action Committee (CIPAC) announces endorsed candidates for the upcoming Consolidated Election on April 1, 2025.
CIPAC carefully evaluates all candidates, giving special consideration to incumbents based on their voting records on business-related policies. Additionally, all candidates are invited to complete a questionnaire addressing key issues that impact local businesses. To ensure a comprehensive assessment, CIPAC conducted in-depth research on candidates running for Decatur City Council and Decatur Public School Board, in order to understand their perspectives on business and policy matters affecting Decatur and Macon County.

Decatur City Council: Ed Culp, Consuelo Cruz, and Jim Wrigley
Decatur Public Schools: Jason Dion, Tony Albertina, Devon Joyner, Karen Lauritzen
The 2025 election will play a crucial role in shaping the future economic growth of Decatur. CIPAC believes it is vital to support pro-business candidates who will advocate for policies that strengthen the local business environment. Likewise, strong leadership on the Decatur Public School Board is critical for ensuring a well- prepared workforce and an education system that supports the long-term economic vitality of the region. Decisions made at the school board level directly impact workforce development, talent retention, and the overall competitiveness of Decatur’s business community.
Following an extensive review of candidate policy positions, CIPAC has endorsed individuals who demonstrate a commitment to fostering a thriving business community and advancing the quality of education. Questionnaires were sent to all candidates running, and the endorsement decisions are based on questionnaire responses received from the candidates.
