The Golden K Kiwanis Club of Decatur Announces Programs For February

The Golden K Kiwanis Club of Decatur has announced their program schedule for February, 2025:

• On February 5, Dr. Stephen Frech, the Educational Leader at Unity Christian School, will discuss reading and its relationship to lifelong learning, earning, and success. Unity Christian School was previously known as LSA (Lutheran School Association), and Dr. Frech oversees the academic curriculum for the school.

• On February 12, Clyde Chapman of Crown Toyota of Decatur will share from his experiences with the Foster Care system in the State of Illinois.

• On February 19, Jamalia Wicks, Advancement Director of the Illinois State Museum will give an overview concerning the many exhibits the museum has on hand and the many areas of life that are represented. She has been serving as Advancement Director of the museum since 2020.

• On February 26, Laura Cullison of Evergreen Senior Living, will speak on the subject, “Life Unrehearsed.” Evergreen Senior Living has a dementia care philosophy that is a holistic approach to serving seniors with memory impairment honoring both the past and the present.

Golden K Kiwanis of Decatur enjoys changing our world for the better – by helping children and others. They are involved in supporting over 40 local organizations and activities, by annually donating over 10,000 hours of service to the community. Programs and presenters are subject to change without notice.
Meetings are held every Wednesday morning with a fellowship hour starting at 8:30 am and a program starting at 9:30 am at the Salvation Army, 229 W. Main Street in Decatur. Anyone who is interested in serving our community is invited to attend.
