Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations October Meeting Oct. 15

     The public is invited to attend the October meeting of CONO (Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations) on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
     The meeting will begin at 5:30pm in the Madden Room on the first floor of the Decatur Public Library, 130 North Franklin Street.
     The organization hosts public meetings the third Tuesday of each month. It is a free forum that is open to any resident. Meetings typically last one hour. More information is available on the Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations Facebook page or call 217-791-1385. Everyone is invited to attend.
     CONO is encouraging neighborhoods to reorganize their neighborhood organization or get one started. Board members of the coalition will assist any group with organization. CONO has sponsored numerous projects in support of our neighborhoods including Public and Neighborhood Safety Projects, Free Little Libraries, Night National Out, a Mental Health and Wellness Fair, Neighborhood beautification, and more! The organization has grants available to better our neighborhoods.
     The purpose of CONO is to support the formation, development, and empowerment of grassroots neighborhood organizations within the city boundaries of Decatur, Illinois, by sharing ideas with, and providing moral support to, neighborhood representatives, by promoting skills development (i.e., training opportunities and technical assistance) and by promoting neighborhood and political awareness.
