DECATUR POLICE SEARCH WARRANT YIELDS SOME RESULTS IN RECOVERING STOLEN TRAILER

On September 16, 2024, the Decatur Police Department started investigating the theft of a 1999 Autocar enclosed trailer belonging to the Shemilah Outreach Center. The trailer was stolen from 1414 W. Grove Road in Decatur and contained two John Deere zero-turn mowers, one Stihl trimmer, and one Stihl leaf blower. The value of the items totaled approximately $12,428.00.
Members of the Criminal Investigations Division began utilizing various investigative resources in an attempt to locate the stolen items and identify the responsible individual(s). On September 20, 2024, a search warrant was executed in the 1800 block of N. 32nd Street in Decatur. The search warrant yielded the recovery of the trailer and one zero-turn mower.
An arrest has not been made, but we are actively investigating the theft to ensure we hold the individual(s) accountable.
