Macon County Sheriff’s Office Reports Shot Fired At Macon County Fair
On June 7, 2024 at approximately at 2048 hours Macon County Sheriffs Office Deputies were working off duty security at the Macon County Fair when a large fight broke out. While responding to the fight a single shot was fired by an unknown person. No persons were struck by the shot that was fired. One person incurred minor injuries after being knocked down in the crowd. This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Macon County Sheriffs Office at 217-424-1319.
This gun fire does not belong at events the fights need to be taken elsewhere .You are ruining events here in Decatur. Can’t we all get along .

I guess they’ll move their rioting behavior to the boat races now. It’s a shame we can’t have any activities in this town without irresponsibility. Glad to see parents are being forced to monitor their children.
