For the last 55 years, the Northeast Community Fund relies on the help from our community and neighbors to support our operations. Your gift of hope and love shines brightly on the lives of the neediest members Decatur and Macon County at times when they need help the most. At this time, more than ever, Northeast needs our community. We need your help as we enter into our 55th year.
Our annual “Love Thy Neighbor” campaign has a goal of raising $55,000 on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Love Thy Neighbor will be held 6 a.m.-6 p.m. we will be hosting a FOOD DRIVE-THRU accepting donations of food and items in our facility located at 839 N. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive. During this day we encourage members of our community to rally together to donate.
As you may know, this February includes “leap day.” Take the leap of love and assist us. Those who donate 55 pounds of food, $155 cash or $155worth (with receipt) of items receive a half dozen cookies from Giggles. We strongly encourage businesses, schools, and organizations to volunteer and help. Our giving site will be live the entire month of February.
This event will kick off a series of events during 2024 celebrating our 55th year serving Decatur. If any local business is interested in sponsoring this event or local groups would like to volunteer, please let Paul Lidy, Director Development & Fundraising or Angel Lawrence, Executive Director of the Northeast Community Fund, know.
