Chuck Erickson Announces Candidacy For Illinois House District 88

Chuck Erickson
Current McLean County Board District 10 representative Chuck Erickson has announced his candidacy to serve the citizens of the 88th District in the Illinois House of Representatives.
Erickson, a 12-year, four-term member of the McLean County Board, will take his message of common-sense fiscal conservatism and conservative values to Springfield to give a voice to the largely rural district. With a focus on constituent service, Erickson believes his proven track record of effective conservative leadership on the county board and his commitment to constituent services serves as a testament to his commitment to the people of the 88th District.
Erickson is a first-generation college graduate born and raised in Gibson City who worked his way through college. After graduating from Parkland Community College with honors, Erickson attended Illinois State University where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in economics.
Erickson then attended law school at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law – Indianapolis.
He was admitted to practice law in Illinois in 1995 and has had his own law practice in Bloomington focusing on the areas of probate, guardianships, real estate, wills and trust, small estate planning, business law, and civil litigation.
Erickson has served as a Republican precinct committeeman since 2008. He has served as a member of the McLean County GOP executive committee as treasurer and was elected and served as Chairman of the McLean County Republican Party from 2014 to 2018.
Erickson was recently re-elected to represent District 10 on the McLean County Board in 2022 and currently serves as the Chairman of the Justice Committee. He also sits on the Finance and Executive committees and on the Rules subcommittee.
Erickson was selected as an alternate delegate by the Illinois Republican Party in 2016 to the Republican National Convention.
A life member of the Illinois State Rifle Association and Guns Save Life, Erickson is committed to Second Amendment rights and has been a strong advocate for law enforcement as Chairman of the Justice Committee of the McLean County Board.
Erickson has the endorsement of former McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage, current McLean County Sheriff Matt Lane, former McLean County Republican Party Chairman John Parrott, former State Representative Dan Brady and former State Senator Bill Brady, to name just a few of his endorsements.
Erickson’s father was among the initial waves of soldiers to land on Omaha Beach during D-Day, a constant reminder to him of the sacrifice of those who have gone before us, securing the freedoms of democracy we enjoy today.
“I have a proven track record of voting and supporting the very same values shared by the hard-working men and women of the 88th district, and I look forward to taking those values and my voting record to Springfield on their behalf,” Erickson said.
Former State Senator Bill Brady: “Chuck Erickson is my choice to be the next State Representative in the 88th District. Having served in the Illinois General Assembly, I know Chuck Erickson has what it takes to represent the values of the 88th.”
Former State Representative Dan Brady: “I am endorsing Chuck Erickson for State Representative in the 88th House District.
“His support for family values, agricultural, law enforcement, education and business issues is the heart of this district.”
