The Culver House

Local author Mary Lynn has released her third book, Sarah’s Legacy – It’s in the Stars.
This is a sequel to The Forgotten Life of Sarah Grady, a historical novel based on love letters found in #3 Millikin Place.
Sarah, the wife of prominent businessman William J. Grady of Faries Manufacturing, was a top Decatur socialite who fought for women’s rights, served in the Red Cross, assisted during the Spanish flu epidemic, and lifted her husband to success with his company.
She served in the upper echelons of society, but also had a secret life that pushed her to want more out of life, ultimately leading to her fleeing Decatur. What happened to her after that life altering day, which made the front page of the newspaper, has been a mystery.
Until now. The sequel will be released on June 8th with a book launch and author signing from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm held at The Culver House located at 412 W. Prairie Ave. An author presentation will be done at 6:00 pm.
Light refreshments will be served, and attendees can also view the newly launched Decatur History Museum at The Culver House. Books will be available for purchase for $20.
