Awards Given For Barn Colony Artists Spring Show
Barn Colony Artists Spring Show opened May 6 at the Anne Lloyd Gallery at the Madden Arts Center, 125 N. Water St. in downtown Decatur. The show will run through May 20. The judge for this show was Mr. David Barista. He graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a BFA with an emphasis in art education. He has taught in various schools throughout Chicagoland and the state and has worked with the Decatur School District since 2016.
The People’s Choice Award went to Anthony Collins for his oil painting, “Across the Grand Canal”. Best of Show Experienced ribbon was awarded to Anthony Collins for oil. Best of Show Amateur ribbon was awarded to Christina Shields for oil. The Marjorie Starkey Creativity Award was presented to Sue Goodpaster for oil.
The Ken Moser Kaleidoscope Award was presented to Ann Brunson for color drawing. First Place Experienced ribbons were awarded to Ann Brunson, black and white drawing; Barbara Dove, oil; Elizabeth Holder, watercolor; Carol Kessler, color drawing; and Marla Winkleblack,for clay. First Place Amateur ribbons were awarded to Dianne Lutt, acrylic; and Christina Shields, mixed media. First Place Novice ribbon was awarded to Madeline Cooper for clay.
