History of the Heartland Church Events Meeting Oct. 12

History of the Heartland is hosting an idea sharing and organizational meeting with any Church that is interested in participating.  The meeting will be Wednesday, October 12 at 11:30 at Paul’s Confectionary, 999 North Water Street, Decatur.  Please call (217) 791-1385 for reservations.  Churches are encouraged to send a representative to this meeting or call for more information.

History of the Heartland is a not-for-profit organization with the mission of the preservation of our structures and the stories of our people.  It is a consortium of over 20 organizations and each May they host historic preservation week with a variety of events.  Past “Church events” includes a Church Street Church Stroll and Stained-Glass Stories tour.  The stained-glass stories event was especially enjoyed by many of the community. It consisted of tours of the inside of 4 historic churches with a guide to tell the story of their gorgeous windows.

This meeting is the result of several members of the community requesting the organization host more Church events.  Our area has a vast array of Churches with fascinating histories and stories.  Please call Ayn at (217) 791-1385 for more information.
