Mid-Summer Moon Productions Presents Disney’s Beauty And The Beast At Decatur Civic Center

 

      It’s a tale as old as time and Mid-Summer Moon Productions is bringing it to the Decatur Civic Center. Join the cast in the enchanted world of the Broadway classic Disney’s Beauty and the Beast this September. It’s the classic story of Belle, a young woman, and the Beast who is really a young prince that is under an enchantment. To break the spell, the Beast must learn to love and be loved. Time is running out, however, and if the Beast does not learn his lesson soon his entire household will remain trapped under the spell.

     Mid-Summer Moon Pro-ductions performances of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast are at 7 p.m. on Sept. 16 and Sept. 17, and 2 p.m. on Sept. 17 and Sept. 18. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased online at www.tickettailor.com/events/midsummermoonproductions or at the door the day of the event. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast has been produced in 37 countries. The stage version is based on the Academy Award-winning animated movie and includes all of the beautiful songs written by the iconic duo of Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman.

     There are also new songs written by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. “This show is “partially sponsored by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Illinois Arts Council Agency, and the Decatur Area Arts Council.” Mid-Summer Moon Productions is a federally recognized 501c3 charitable organization, providing quality family-friendly stage productions for all performers – regardless of age or experience. Entire families are encouraged to participate together as a unit – making it truly a “family experience.”

     Mid-Summer Moon Productions is providing complimentary tickets to our Saturday matinee for children who attend Homework Hangout and the Boys and Girls Club. A special meet the cast session will occur after the Saturday matinee performance. Those who attend will have the opportunity to ask questions, tour the stage and see props and set up close.
