Community Blood Drives To Be Held May 4, 5
Two community blood drives will be held in May. St. Patrick School’s blood drive well be held Wednesday, May 4 from 2:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at 412 Jackson Street, Decatur, inside Rectory Basement. Donors who last gave on Mar. 9, 2022 are eligible to give at this drive. Masks and appointments required. Warrensburg Latham High School will host a blood drive 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, at 425 N. North Street, Warrensburg, inside the Bloodmobile. To donate or for questions about eligibility, contact the Blood Center at 800-747-5401 or visit www.bloodcenter.org and use code 60831 to locate the drive. Donors who last gave blood on or before March 11, 2022 are eligible to give at this drive. All presenting donors will get a voucher for a $10 gift card and a tree planted in their name to support reforestation efforts. The schools will earn grant money if 20+ donations are collected at each school.
Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required to donate. Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.
