MISSY HAYNES ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR SHELBY COUNTY TREASURER

Melissa “Missy” Haynes of Shelbyville announces her candidacy for Shelby County Treasurer. She will seek the Republican nomination at the June 28, 2022 primary election.
Mrs. Haynes has been married to her husband Donny for eighteen years. She and her husband share three beautiful daughters named Hailey, Chloe and Amelia “Mia” as well as rescue pets who are considered a part of the Haynes family. Donny has served on the Shelby County Dive Team for six years as a shore responder. Mr. and Mrs. Haynes and their three daughters moved to Shelbyville more than ten years ago and instantly fell in love with Shelby County. Mrs. Haynes has contributed to her community as a Girl Scout Leader, a Sunday School teacher, a youth leader, and an active church volunteer. Mrs. Haynes has also served as a Shelby County election judge for the past four years.
Mrs. Haynes is currently employed as a banker. Her employment duties and responsibilities include providing financial advice to clients on matters relating to savings, investments and securities. Mrs. Haynes was formerly employed as a corrections officer and dispatcher with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office. Prior to that, Mrs. Haynes worked in retail management where she acquired extensive knowledge and experience in bookkeeping, scheduling and time management. Mrs. Haynes describes her ability to work with the public as her best attribute.
As Shelby County Treasurer, Mrs. Haynes will foster an environment of professionalism, transparency, and accountability. Her goals include a commitment to helping Shelby County grow and prosper as well as maintaining a positive working relationship with co-workers, county employees, and the community.
Mrs. Haynes looks forward to meeting many Shelby County residents on the campaign trail to discuss her qualifications and listen to their concerns.
