MAC ON SPORTS: OPEN PRACTICE FOR ILLINI FANS

J. Thomas McNamara

Fighting Illini fans can get an early look at Coach Brad Underwood’s fifth squad this Homecoming weekend as Illinois continues preparing for the highly anticipated 2021-22 season.

Illinois will hold an open practice Saturday morning at State Farm Center, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Fans should arrive through the Grand West Entrance (First St. side of arena). Doors open at 8 a.m.

In compliance with current University of Illinois policy, all visitors – regardless of vaccination status – are required to wear a mask or face covering inside of State Farm Center.

State Farm Center arena policies will be enforced, including the clear bag policy.

Fans are asked to observe team policy by not taking photos and videos during the practice.

Parking lots open at 7 a.m. as part of the normal football game day procedure. Passes are required for admittance to all parking lots adjacent to State Farm Center. The closest game-day purchase lot to State Farm Center is in Research Park.

For more information regarding parking on football game days, view Game Day Guide and Parking Map.

I will have more on this developing story in a future print edition of the Decatur Tribune.
