MILLIKIN’S GOLUCH AND HOLLAND NAMED TO COSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT SOFTBALL TEAM

          DECATUR, Illinois—Millikin University junior Kaylee Goluch (Inverness, William Fremd H.S.) and senior Maddie Holland (Shelbyville, H.S.) were named to the 2020-21 Academic All-District® Softball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizing the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

          Goluch was selected as and infielder for District 7 and Holland was named to the District 7 outfield. Goluch started all 45 games for the Big Blue at first base batting .320 with 33 RBIs while excelling in the classroom earning a 3.84 cumulative grade point average as an Elementary Education major. Holland, Millikin’s starting left fielder, batted .312 on the season. Holland, an Accounting major, graduated in May with a 3.97 grade point average.

          The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball

honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late July.

          The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
