DPS SCHOOLS TO HOST NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION DAYS IN LATE JULY

Online Registration Continues for Returning Students

Decatur Public Schools will host two days of in-person registration events for kindergarten students and students who are new to DPS for the 2020-21 school year. Families will be able to register new students on Monday, July 27 and Tuesday, July 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. each day at each of the DPS school buildings. DPS staff will be available at the schools to assist with registration and make sure all the student’s necessary paperwork is in order.

For a list of documents families will need to bring to register new students, go to www.dps61.org/registration and look for the list of forms you need for either kindergarten registration or registration for grades 1-12. At that same web page, you’ll also find a link to School Boundary information for the 2020-21 school year. School boundaries changed for Dennis Lab School and South Shores Elementary School for the upcoming school year.

Families can input their home address to see which elementary school their students are assigned to for the 2020-21 school year and beyond. Online registration also continues for students who are returning to a DPS school for the upcoming school year. At www.dps61.org, families will find a link to Skyward Family Access, where they can login to register returning students. Anyone who needs assistance with the online registration process can reach out to their student’s school for assistance.
