Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations Meeting July 21

     The public is invited to attend the July meeting of CONO (Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations) on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. The meeting will begin at 5:30pm in the Madden Auditorium on the first floor of the Decatur Public Library, 130 North Franklin Street. LeAnne Bond, of the city of Decatur, will present details of the upcoming National Night Out event at Dansby Park (2230 West Center St). National Night Out will be on Tuesday, August 4 from 5pm to 8pm.
     The purpose of CONO is to support the formation, development, and empowerment of grassroots neighborhood organizations within the city boundaries of Decatur, Illinois, by sharing ideas with, and providing moral support to, neighborhood representatives, by promoting skills development (i.e., training opportunities and technical assistance) and by promoting neighborhood and political awareness. Citizens are encouraged to come with project ideas and needs of their own neighborhood.
     CONO hosts public meetings the third Tuesday of each month. It is a free forum that is open to any resident. Meetings typically last one hour. Citizens are encouraged to follow the Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations Facebook page for more neighborhood details.
