Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations February Meeting

The public is invited to attend the February meeting of CONO (Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations) on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. The meeting will begin at 5:30pm in the Madden Room on the first floor of the Decatur Public Library, 130 North Franklin Street. The organization hosts public meetings the third Tuesday of each month. It is a free forum that is open to any resident. Meetings typically last one hour. More information is available on the Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations Facebook page or call 217-791-1385. Everyone is invited to attend.
CONO will have Decatur Police Chief Brad Allen as the guest speaker. Chief Allen will also take questions from the public. Any Decatur resident is encouraged to attend this meeting. CONO has provided security doorbell cameras for over 125 residents during the past two years with a neighborhood safety program. The board is currently making their 2026 project plans. Each project is designed to help lift the neighborhoods and residents up.
The purpose of CONO is to support the formation, development, and empowerment of grassroots neighborhood organizations within the city boundaries of Decatur, Illinois, by sharing ideas with, and providing moral support to, neighborhood representatives, by promoting skills development (i.e., training opportunities and technical assistance) and by promoting neighborhood and political awareness.
