Experience The Geminid Meteor Shower With The Macon County Conservation District

View the Geminid Meteor Shower with the Macon County Conservation District on Saturday, December 13 from 9-11p, at the Friends Creek Conservation Area Group Campsite.
The Geminid Meteor Shower is the strongest meteor shower of the year. These meteors originate near the constellation Gemini and are usually bright and colorful. If conditions are right, we could be in for a dazzling show. There will be hot chocolate available in the brand-new timber-framed pavilion for participants to enjoy.
Wear warm clothing and bring along a lawn chair and blanket if you like, as there is no seating in the viewing area.
This event is $3/person you must pre-register online by noon on December 12 at MaconCCD.org.
Friends Creek Conservation Area is located at 13734 Friends Creek Park Rd., Argenta, IL. To get to Friends Creek from Decatur, go northeast on Route 48 for 11 miles and turn left onto Friends Creek Park Road.
Follow signs to the Group Campsite.
     Parking is available.
