4-H Riders Ready To Shine In Show Arena

The 4-H Horse project incorporates much more than just riding. Kids learn responsibility, leadership, and master riding techniques. Each year, 4-H members demonstrate their horsemanship and equestrian skills at the DeWitt, Ma-con, and Piatt 4-H Horse Show held at the DeWitt County 4-H Fairgrounds.
The 4-H Horse Show is a free, family-friendly, two-day event that will include English, Western, and Trail classes and fast-paced games such as barrel racing, keyhole, poles, and more.

Event Schedule:
July 5 | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Members will compete in Halter, English, Western, and Trail classes, demonstrating control, style, and communication with their horses.

July 6 | 1 p.m.-6 p.m.
It’s a day of high-energy fun and games as members showcase costumes, speed, and agility.

“These 4-H members have dedicated extra time during open ride nights, working with adult mentors to strengthen their class skills,” says 4-H Program Coordinator Kendra Wallace. “We’re excited to see their dedication and progress come to life in the arena.”
Please support these amazing 4-H members and attend the show!

Illinois 4-H is the flagship youth development program of University of Illinois Extension and administered through the College of Agriculture, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences. 4-H grows true leaders, youth who are empowered for life today and prepared for a career tomorrow. The hands-on approach in 4-H gives young people guidance, tools and encouragement, and then puts them in the driver’s seat to make great things happen. Independent research confirms the unparalleled impact of the 4-H experience, demonstrating that young people are four times more likely to contribute to their communities; two times more likely to make healthier choices; two times more likely to be civically active; and two times more likely to participate in STEM programs.
