History of the Heartland is hosting the Cinnamon Bear, old-time radio series. The link appears on the History of the Heartland facebook page each evening at 5:45 (November 29-December 24). All links remain on the page so a family can listen to the entire series at their leisure. The old-time radio broadcasts were first aired in 1937. The show was created by a group of merchants as an advertising promotion and was recorded in only a few weeks.
The series follows the adventures of Judy and Jimmy as they try to retrieve their lost silver star in time to place it on the top of their tree for Christmas. Along the way they meet the Cinnamon Bear and a host of other characters.
“Our History of the Heartland board is happy to announce the response from families last year was amazing so this will be an annual History of the Heartland series. Part of our mission is preserving the stories of our people and Christmas traditions hold many stories,” says coordinator Ayn Owens.
