     Born and raised right here in Macon County, Diane Couri is proud to announce her candidacy for Macon County State’s Attorney, running for the Republican nomination.
     Grounded in faith and with a deep-rooted commitment to her community. With a proven track record in prosecuting felony cases, Diane is dedicated to making Macon County a safer, more vibrant place for everyone.
Diane’s upbringing instilled in her the values of hard work, community engagement, and giving back. These principles guided her journey as she pursued a career in law and public service. She envisions a future for Macon County where her children and all residents feel safe, and where the community becomes a source of pride and unity.
     “I have always believed that our community has endless potential, and I am excited to take the next step in serving its residents as Macon County State’s Attorney,” said Diane. “My vision is to create an environment that is safe and just for all. I look forward to bringing innovative ideas, grit, and victim-centered prosecution to the Macon County State’s Attorney’s Office.”
     Diane Couri brings a wealth of experience to the table, having worked extensively on prosecuting felony cases, including first-degree murder, attempt first-degree murder, and sex crimes. Her experience in the private sector makes her a well-rounded attorney, providing a firm foundation to lead the Macon County State’s Attorney’s Office. Her deep understanding of the legal system and her commitment to seeking justice make her an ideal candidate for the role of State’s Attorney.
     Macon County Sheriff Jim Root expressed his unwavering support for Diane’s Candidacy saying: “I support Diane Couri for the office of State’s Attorney because I believe she is willing to fight for the rights of people while holding criminals responsible for their crimes. She is experienced and can lead this office with the challenges of today and into the future.”
     Retired Macon County Sheriff Chief Deputy Ed Culp also fully supports Diane’s candidacy, saying: “Diane Couri was by far, one of the most professional and thorough prosecutors I ever had the privilege of serving with.”
     Current Macon County Sheriff Deputy Chief Matt Jedlicka backs Diane’s candidacy and states: “Diane has the passion, commitment, and integrity necessary to be our next Macon County State’s Attorney.”
