Friends Of Lincoln Trail Homestead Will Sponsor A Program On Bees Aug. 19

 

     Friends of Lincoln Trail Homestead State Park and Memorial will meet August 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the park.
     Susan Shaw and Sonya Anthony, master naturalists and member of the Sangamon Valley Beekeepers, will discuss about honeybees.
     Susan will discuss honeybees including the three castes, the jobs they perform and how honey is made and extracted.
     Sonya will discuss the important of native bees with special emphasis on Mason bees and Leafcutter bees.
     The park is located about 10 miles straight west of Decatur. Take Old Route 36, past Harristown to Lincoln Memorial Parkway; go south four miles. The park is on the east side of the road.
