“Today I am officially announcing that I am a candidate
for the Decatur City Council in the Decatur municipal Spring 2027 elections.
“I was born and raised in Decatur and came back to my hometown after serving my
country in the Vietnam conflict and want to continue to serve my community working with others to make Decatur an even better community for those who call Decatur home now and for those who will call Decatur home in the future.
“My priorities will continue to be to promote Public Safety, maintain and improve the city’s basic infrastructures that our citizens and the business community rely on daily, while also coming up with a common sense and financially sound approach in improving our neighborhoods and promoting economic development in expanding our business community that will provide additional jobs for our present and future community residents into the future.
“A city’s neighborhoods are one of the most important building blocks of any prosperous community along with a community’s varied school systems, their religious and medical institutions, as well as their business community in maintaining and building a growing a more prosperous community.
“I will continue to listen to and work with the leaders of our own excellent institutions, business community and neighborhood organizations on suggestions on how to move our community forward and make Decatur a more successful community.
“I don’t have all the answers or solutions to some of the issues that confront our community, but I will continue as I always have to take the time to listen to our citizens of our community who might have solutions for solving those issues as I continue to travel around to see what is happening in my hometown.”
