TUSCOLA MAN KILLED IN ACCIDENT JUST NORTH OF DALTON CITY
DALTON CITY – On October 23, 2025 at approximately 700p the Macon County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to an accident on 85th Street near Gosnell Road. That location is just north of Dalton City, Illinois.
Upon arrival deputies learned that a tractor towing an anhydrous tank was traveling southbound on 85th. A second vehicle traveling northbound on 85th Street struck the anhydrous applicator of the tractor, which was still extended and in the northbound lane. The northbound vehicle was being operated by Thomas G. Dueker, a 51 year old male from Tuscola, Illinois. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The anhydrous tanks were not compromised during the accident and no hazardous conditions were identified.
The operator of the tractor was initially cited for Improper Lane Usage. Additional charges may be pending after a thorough investigation and review by the Macon County State’s Attorney.
The Macon County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone to use caution when traveling rural roads during the harvest season. Decreased natural lighting and the onset of colder weather means that farmers are working extra hours to get their crops harvested.
