31st Annual Juneteenth National Freedom Day Celebration Fundraiser Downtown June 20, 21

The African-American Cultural and Genealogical Society of Illinois will host its 31st Annual Juneteenth National Freedom Day Celebration Fundraiser on Friday, June 20, 2025 and Saturday, June 21, 2025.
The weekend event will start the National Freedom Day Gala, Come and dine with us at the Decatur Club, 158 W Prairie, Decatur, IL at 6 p. m. with guest speaker Ms. Melverta Wilkins, President of Metro Decatur Black Chamber of Commerce and CEO of Sista Girls & Friends, Inc.
Then Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 12pm will kick off with the Emancipation Parade. Grand Marshal will be Decatur City Councilwoman, Consuelo Cruz and the Ferguson MO Black Cowboys.
This year’s event is jam-packed with entertainment, festivities, food, education, giveaways, kid’s corner, chess competition, community assistance and more for the enjoyment of the public.
Saturday’s speakers will be Dr. Dana Ray, Mr. Edwin Robinson, Rev. Robert.Collier.
Special Poets will be: Joshua Graff, Sharity Smith. Springfield, IL
