Decatur, IL, March 13, 2024 — WAND Media announced  Alyssa Patrick as news co-anchor joining Sean Streaty and Jim Kosek for primary newscasts at 5pm, 6pm, and 10pm weekdays.

Patrick is no stranger to the WAND viewers and news streaming users having served previously as news anchor at 4pm and nightside reporter since 2021, covering big stories like the Teutopolis ammonia spill and investigating student unrest in Decatur schools.

Prior to WAND, Alyssa worked on the border in El Paso, Texas where she reported and anchored covering immigration issues and the tragic August Walmart shooting. Before moving to Texas, Alyssa also spent time working in Charleston, West Virginia, and Gulfport, Mississippi.

“She has an anchor flair with an investigative reporter like style,” said WAND General Manager Clay Koenig. “I knew from the very first day she would be our future at WAND TV,” Koenig added.

“I am excited to be joining Sean Streaty on WAND News at 5, 6 and 10. I look forward to continuing the WAND legacy of trust built over the past 75 years,” said Patrick. “I look forward to serving our community in this new role. I’ve made Central Illinois my home and I am committed to working hard for them every day.”

Co-anchor Sean Streaty added, “with her work on investigative stories, covering city government, education, county issues, and so much more, she has gotten to know the newsmakers, but more importantly the people these stories affect.”
