Macon County Conservation District’s Annual Maple Syrup Programs Feb. 18

 

      The Macon County Conservation District invites you to attend its annual Maple Syrup Programs. On Saturday, February 18 at 11 a.m., 12pm, or 1pm at Rock Springs Nature Center, join them to learn how maple syrup is made. This event is free. Register on MaconCountyConservation.org. Participants will learn how maple syrup is produced from sap, why spring is the best time of the year to harvest sap, and how people have used it throughout history.

     Finally, there will be samples of real maple syrup to taste Rock Springs Nature Center is located on the southwestern edge of Decatur. To get to Rock Springs from Decatur, go south on Route 48 and turn west onto Rock Springs Road or go south on Wyckles Road and turn east onto Rock Springs Road. Watch for signs. Plenty of parking is available.
