Public’s Help Needed In ‘Crime Of The Week’

 The Decatur Police Department needs your help in solving this week’s crime of the week. On January 15th, 2023, Decatur Police responded to the 1000 block of W Green in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and observed numerous shell casings in the roadway.

     A short time later a gunshot victim arrived at a local hospital with non-life- threatening injuries. Police spoke to the victim who advised he was sitting in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle in this block when a blue colored Ford Fusion drove past him going W/B. As the vehicle drove by, the passenger in this Ford Fusion leaned out and began shooting at him multiple times. The Ford Fusion continued driving W/B and was last observed N/B on Oakland Street. Both the driver and passenger in the Ford Fusion were B/M’s, wearing face coverings, who appeared to be in their 20’s.
