2023 Low-Income Senior Citizens Assessment Freeze Exemption Forms Are Now Available

 

 The 2023 Low-Income Senior Citizens Assessment Freeze Exemption forms are now available.  (The name of this exemption has been changed, this is still the same as the Senior Citizens Assessment Freeze Exemption.) State statute requires this form to be completed annually.  You can get the form from most area banks, credit unions, libraries, post offices, on the county’s website and in our office.

     Bring your 2022 proof of income, which includes your tax form 1040 and all supporting income documents for everyone in the household to the Macon County Supervisor of Assessments Office at 141 S Main St Ste 401.     If you received a one-time payout from surrendering a life insurance policy at the beginning of 2022 for which the taxable amounts is reported under pension and annuity on 1040 will that count against you for 2023 income eligibility?
