‘Books Between Bites’ To Feature ‘Spoon Song’ By Ruth Siburt

“Books Between Bites” will be held in the Decatur Public Library’s Madden Auditorium on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 12:15.
The book “Spoon Song” by Author Ruth Siburt will be presented by the author.
Ruth Siburt is a local children’s author and a lifetime Decaturite and proud East Ender. She received her Associate’s Degree from Richland Community College and her Bachelor’s Degree at University of Illinois Springfield. She loves singing, writing, reading and grandma-ism! She enjoys writing for Decatur Magazine and has written more than a dozen leveled readers to Educational Publishers such as Reading 1-7, Pearson and Zaner-Bloser. She retired from Decatur Public Schools in 2011.
Ruth will be reading her newly released rhyming picture book, Spoon Song. She will tell how the story came into being and the journey to find its place in the children’s book world.
She will read the book aloud. She will take questions and or comments from the floor. She plans to demonstrate how to play spoons as an instrument. Audience will be invited to try their hands (no pun intended) at playing spoons. Both soft cover and hardback issues of Spoon Song will be available for sale. This might be a Christmas gift idea for those with children or grandchildren.
