Exhibitors At Illinois State Fair Earn Top Awards During 4-H Conference Judging
Another 4-H year has come to a close with the Illinois State Fair conference judging. DeWitt, Macon, and Piatt 4-H members exhibited their general projects with other Illinois 4-H members on Saturday, August 13, in the Orr building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
Twenty-three Macon County 4-H members entered projects for the conference judging. There was one Grand Champion, three Reserve Champions, and five Inspire Awards.
“It was an exciting day, seeing all of the kids presenting their work and interacting with caring adults,” says 4-H Youth Development Educator Ben Steele. “Congratulations to all of our delegates, and we look forward to getting the new year started!”
Exhibits that received the highest score in the project class at the end of the day were given Grand Champion medals. Reserve Champion medals went to the second highest score at the end of the day. Inspire Awards were given at the judges’ discretion to inspirational, innovative, or unique exhibits.
