The 166th Annual Macon County Fair is June 2 – 5th at the Macon County Fairgrounds

 

 

 

Decatur, IL – The 166th Annual Macon County Fair is June 2 – 5th at the Macon County Fairgrounds which are located at 3700 North Westlawn Avenue in Decatur. Admission to the fair is $5.00 per person and children under 3 are free and parking is free.

The fair board has worked all year long in making improvements to the grounds, planning the regular grandstand events, and making plans for a handful of new events. Within a few days, the fair will be running with carnival rides for all ages, games, food vendors, commercial vendors and so much more! 

The food vendors have all been secured and we are still looking for some commercial vendors. That could be crafters, antiques, vintage items, or business products such as cleaning products, jewelry, cooking products and more! Reserve now as space is filling up. Need people to reserve the Illini Pub Cycle, Display their classic vehicles, sell products at the Farmer’s Market, sign up for the Beer & Bags Tournaments, register your Adorable Baby, and many other events!

The Schedule starts with a ribbon cutting ceremony and business after hours with the Decatur Regional Chamber of Commerce starting at 4:30 – 7:00 pm at the grandstand for all Chamber members. Starting at 7:00 pm is the Macon County Queen Pageant and is sponsored by Mike Hall Auction & First Mid Insurance Group. Plan to watch and celebrate as the new queen is crowned! Starting at 7:30 to 10:30 pm the Feudin’ Hillbilly’s sponsored by Jason White with Brinkoetter, will take stage in the Decatur Building. This entertaining country band will be a fun time as members from Shriners will be collecting donations to help children with health issues. Admission is free and $1.00 Busch Light will be available.

Friday, June 3 the ITPA Truck & Tractor Pull is sponsored by Koehl Bros. It starts at 7:00 pm in the grandstand. Tickets are $15 per person adult to 12, $6 children 5 to 11 and children 4 and under are free. Pits are $25 per person and Infield Track Truck parking is $50 per vehicle.

The band Pizzazz will start playing for the “Tractor Pull After Pull Party” from 9:00 to midnight in the Decatur Building. This high energy band is sponsored by Neuhoff Media and Hickory Point Bank.

Saturday, June 4 the day starts early with the New Farmer’s Market & Touch-A-Tractor sponsored by Macon County Farm Bureau. From 8:00 am to Noon, you will find people selling flowers, produce, honey, etc. The Decatur Trail Riders Horse Jackpot Show is at the East Arena. Speed show is at 9:00 am and Pleasure Show at 1:00 pm. The Jackpot Jr. Swine Show held in memory of Roger & Nancy Flach starts at 10:30. The Beer & Bags Tournament expanded to 2 days this year and is powered by Outlaw Baggers and Sponsored by Earthmover Credit Union. Teams start playing at 11:00 am. The Singles Beer & Bags Tournament is Sunday, June 5th. Bags start flying at Noon. Harness Racing sponsored by McLeod Trucking starts at 11:30 am in the grandstand. Also new this year, is the Illini Pub Cycle! People can drink and ride for one hour and the cost is only $25 per person. Must be 21 to participate. Great for family reunions, showers, birthdays, group of friends, etc. Holds up to 15 people. At 7:00 pm take in and watch the Illinois State Fair Karaoke Contest sponsored by Y103 in the Maltas Building. The exciting and family-friendly Rodeo sponsored by SerPro Decatur/Forsyth starts at 7:00 pm in the grandstand. And following the rodeo is the “After Rodeo After Party” with the awesome band that will play your favorites and is recognized by the Illinois Times as Best Cover Band. “After Sunset” is sponsored by Neuhoff Media. Play time is from 9:00 pm to midnight.

Sunday, June 5th is filled with fun and activity too! The Jr. Jackpot Swine and Steers & Heifer Shows start at 9:30 and 10:00 am in the livestock barns. Don’t forget, the Beer & Bags Singles Tournament starts at Noon. The Illini Pub Cycle will be available from Noon to 8:00 pm. The ever-popular Adorable Baby Contest sponsored by Mike Hall Auction & First Mid Insurance Group starts at 1:00 pm in the Decatur Building. Registration starts at Noon. Cost is $10 per child +1 Adult. To Watch it is $1.00 per person and 4 & under are Free. Children ages newborn to 3 years old are eligible to compete. Another New event this year…the Annual Macon County Fair Classic & Muscle Car Show sponsored by Gerber State Bank. The show is from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. We are expecting 40-50 vehicles to be on display! And to wind up this years’ fair is the popular Demolition Derby sponsored by Apex Clean Energy & The Cromwell Group starting at 6:00 pm in the grandstand. Tickets are $15 per adult to 12 years of age, $6 per child from 11 to 5 and children 4 and under are free.

“One of the many improvements we have made is rebuilding the former 4-H Food Stand which will now be known as the FFA Food Barn,” says Fair Board President Evan Hall. Other changes include the removal of trees in front of the grandstand, adding water to the horse barn area and more electric outlets near the livestock barns.
