Decatur Police Issue Report On Hit And Run Accident Which Left Woman With Life Threatening Injuries
At approximately 2004 hours 3/29/22, Decatur Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Jasper St and Rogers Ave in reference to a personal injury hit and run accident. Upon arrival, Officers located a 40-year-old female in the southbound lanes of Jasper St. north of Rogers Ave. The female pedestrian had life threatening injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
Evidence at the scene indicated that a vehicle was traveling southbound on Jasper St approaching Rogers Ave when it struck the female. The vehicle then fled the scene.
The pedestrian was transported to local hospital with life threatening injuries.
The suspect vehicle is possibly one of the following vehicles:
- – 1999 to 2006 GMC Yukon or Yukon XL
- – 1999 to 2002 Chevy Silverado
- – 1999 to 2002 GMC Sierra
The suspect vehicle will have damage to the front bumper and grill area of the vehicle.
Members of the Fatal Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and are investigating the crash. Report Number 22002668.
