MAC ON SPORTS: CLINTON IS LATEST SCHOOL TO GO INTO COVID-19 PROTOCOL, FORFEIT GAME

J. Thomas McNamara

Central A&M Principal Charlie Brown posted today (Wednesday)that Saturday’s opponent, Clinton, has gone into Covid-19 protocol and forfeited the Raiders game.
“Clinton administrators have informed Central A&M that they are unable to play the varsity game on Saturday due to CoVid-19 protocols.
“We are working to try and secure a varsity opponent for this Saturday.
‘If we are unable to play Saturday, or if we have to play on the road — Senior Day will be moved to the next home game, October 1 vs. Warrensburg-Latham (Homecoming),” concluded Brown in his message to the district.
Clinton, Argenta-Oreana, Decatur LSA and Decatur MacArthur have all paused their football programs for Covid protocols.
MacArthur returns to action at noon Saturday against Chatham-Glenwood.
I will have more on this developing story in a future print edition of the Decatur Tribune.
