MAC ON SPORTS: BIG TEN CONFERENCE COULD EXPAND

J. Thomas McNamara

Illinois and the Big Ten are expected to be affected by the news that Texas and Oklahoma are bolting the Big 12 for the SEC.
The  news sent shockwaves across the country.
Athletics directors and coaches as well as presidents were blindsided.
When that happens, and make no mistake about it that it will, the Big 12 is over and its members will scramble to find new conference locations.
CBS analysts have Kansas and Iowa State coming to the Big Ten West which is where the Illini play.
Bill Self playing the school he bolted from
Iowa State and Iowa already play each other in football. Their rivalry is a good one.
By the time these dominoes fall all the Power 5 conferences will be effected, including their present and expected new ones.
I will have more on this in a future print edition of the Decatur Tribune.
