DAVIS APPLAUDS CAPPING COST OF INSULIN FOR SENIORS

U. S. Rep Rodney Davis

Washington, DC — U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) today applauded President Trump and his administration for their work to cap the cost of insulin for seniors. The administration announced today that they have reached an agreement with more than 1,750 Medicare Part D plans to cap insulin at $35 per month. The prescription drug bill (H.R. 19) supported by Davis in Congress would not only cap insulin costs for seniors, but also cap total out-of-pocket prescription drug costs.

“This is great news for our seniors who rely on taking insulin everyday for their health,” said Davis. “This step is a great example of how we can work to lower costs without limiting cures. I encourage the House to follow this lead and bring bipartisan drug pricing bills to the floor to lower costs for even more Americans.”

Davis has encouraged Speaker Pelosi to bring H.R. 19, the Lower Costs, More Cures Act, which bundles a range of bipartisan measures already advanced by House committees or were included in a drug pricing bill (S. 2543) passed by the Senate Finance Committee 19-9, to the floor. Davis opposed the Democrats’ drug pricing bill because CBO estimates that fewer new treatments would be brought to market if H.R. 3 became law.
