THE DECATUR POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES ST. PATRICK’S DAY ‘DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER’ ENFORCEMENT RESULTS

     The Decatur Police Department has announced it made 6 DUI arrests and issued 10 seat- belt citations during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period. “Impaired drivers are a risk to everyone on the road,” said Sgt. Steve Hagemeyer. “We strongly enforce traffic laws for one reason – to save lives.” The Decatur Police Department joined forces with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners for the St. Patrick’s Day campaign. The law enforcement effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
