36th Annual National Night Out Activities In Decatur Aug. 6


On Tuesday, August 6th, the City of Decatur is inviting all residents to the 36th Annual National Night Out (NNO) featuring the Lantern Parade, a crime and drug prevention event at HESS PARK from 5-9 pm.

As part of the event, Decatur Public High School principals, Dr. Amy Zahm from Eisenhower and Mr. Cordell Ingram from MacArthur, along with coaches from both schools will participate in our Dunk Tank!

The dunk tank event will take place throughout the evening where residents will have the opportunity to “dunk” some of our favorite coaches and principals.

5:00-5:30 pm                  Coach Rodney Walker, Eisenhower Basketball
5:30-6:00 pm                  Dr. Amy Zahm, Eisenhower Principal
6:00-6:30 pm                  Mr. Cordell Ingram, MacArthur Principal
6:30-7:00 pm                  Coach Steve Thompson, Eisenhower Baseball
7:00-7:30 pm                  Coach Curt Lindsey, MacArthur Football
7:30-8:00 pm Coach Dante Ridgeway, MacArthur Football

All students from Eisenhower and MacArthur, especially sports teams are encouraged to “DUNK” their favorite coach!

The NNO campaign involves local government officials, not-for-profit organizations, citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses and neighborhood organizations. Over 16,000 cities around the U.S. will host block parties, cookouts, parades, flashlight walks, contests, and youth activities. In all, over 38.3 million people are expected to participate in “America’s Night Out against Crime”.
